This 2 day course provides learners with a greater awareness of mental health, knowledge to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help. It also gives learners the skills to support their own and others’ positive wellbeing.
If required this course can include suicide & self-harm prevention.
Course Content:
- Know what mental health is, why people develop mental health conditions and the role of a First Aider for mental health
- Stress recognition and management
- How to recognise a range of mental health conditions
- Understand the impact of substance abuse on mental health
- Know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace
- How to maintain Good Mental Health
- Suicide self-harm prevention (if requested)
